I've run into a couple of different issues with the Golden Keys that open the battlegrounds, and I was just wondering if my expectations are correct ... looking for some input from the gurus!

1. If I find [color:"yellow"]ONE GOLDEN KEY should I then be able to reach the battlegrounds - or is there a [color:"yellow"] PARTICULAR GOLDEN KEY that opens the initial door? (asking because I found an Act Three [color:"yellow"] golden key near the soldiers camp and it didn't open the battleground option in the character dropdown menu.)

2. Once in the battlegrounds, do I need a separate [color:"yellow"]GOLDEN KEY for each dungeon or is one golden key enough?

3. Once in the battlegrounds, do the dungeons need to be traversed in a particular order? (seems so ... but not sure)

4. Once you have a [color:"yellow"] GOLDEN KEY is there anything that could prevent you from going to the battlefiedls? (like spells/objects/etc.)

5. Are [color:"yellow"] GOLDEN KEYS ever found in the dungeons themselves or are they always in the main Acts?

Thanks - All the Act One dungeons worked fine, but I ended up leaving Act two without completing three of the dungeons because they remained LOCKED ... I guess I might have missed some of the Act two [color:"yellow"] GOLDEN KEYS but I sure thought I examined every nook and cranny of the Imp Village and its surroundings!

ADVthanksANCE for everyone's help!

Any level BF key should give you access to the BF, and unlock the dungeons up to its level.
If you click on the key and get a message that you have access to level X battlefields, then the icon should appear in the secondary skill list.

There should be one key for each dungeon, but if you miss a key, a higher level key will open the lower level dungeons as well.

The dungeons can be explored in any order once opened, but if you do the higher level dungeons first, you may not get as much experience in the lower level dungeons (ie if your character level becomes much higher than the monster level).

A couple people have run into problems leaving for the BF in the middle of a fight or cut scene and then returning, but there are no areas / spells that block access the BF, AFAIK.

The BF keys are always in the main game. Normal keys can be randomly generated in the BF, but they as useless and do not fit any locks.

In act 2, the level 6 key was in a cave to the far south east of the fire forest, reached by tossing a teleporter stone over some lava.

Recently, I found a normal key in one of the aftergame battlefield dungeons. It was lying upon a barrel on the 1st level of that dungeon. However, whenever I tried to pick the key up, the game switched to a loading screen for several seconds, before eventually crashing to the desktop. Twice I tried to get the key, and both times the game crashed. I found no locked door or container in that dungeon that required a key. Needless to say, I didn't bother trying a 3rd time to get the "crash to desktop" key. That's one key that I can do without.

Raze - my great thanks for the pointers ... I'm not about to return to
Act Two to "throw" my teleporter stone (dang - should have remembered
that trick from DD ...).

And as far as those [color:"yellow"] GOLDEN KEYS go, even though you
may have picked them up and put them in your pack, if you didn't double-click
on them they won't do much! (DOH!) Fortunately, it's not too late to
click on them after they are in your pack.

Posted in the hopes this might help somebody almost as dumb as me!

It is very interesting what the engine generates in the BF dungeons. In the Act 2 level 1 dungeon I found 5 totally useless keys. In dungeon 6 there were frying pans laying all around the place. Why would there be frying pans lying around a dungeon??? I did get a little chuckle out of it.
