The forum's reliability has been really spotty for a while now. It seems to occur the most when you are first accessing the forum from the main website. Once it goes down it produces an error message.


Are there any plans to fix the issue? It's really annoying working hard on a post only for the forum to go down and being forced to wait for it to restore itself.

There are plans, yes, and the replacement is currently being planned. The current forums are ancient and technically showing their age (I mean the behind the scenes stuff, the interface is more a matter of taste) and frequently being hammered by bot traffic. Though I have no idea of timescales at present, it is in progress.
