Check around this form. You are not alone.

Do you know what the make and model of your motherboard?

Is the Avance AC97 audio a on board audio system? It could be one of your problem areas? Some games don't like on board sound, & <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> maybe on of those games <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

To check if sound is the problem, in the Beyond Divinity folder, you can open the (empty by default) config.lcl file in any text editor, such as Notepad, add the line "sound 0", hit the enter key and save to disable sound. After the intro video, there will not be any sound.

Check if there are files called debug.lst or error.txt In the Beyond Divinity folder.

I've disabled sound but im still crashing, but I went start clicked up properties on BD in start up bar and found compatibility was set to win 95 (I'm using XP)So I set it to win2000, now crashing every 15-20mins (alot better), i'll disable compatability and see if that sorts it out.

Found debug.lst nothing in it.

No error messages when I crash, since installing the patch the screen goes black and I get these white lines at the top of the screen.

I'll write back if that clears up the crashing, thanks for all your help <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
