I'm playing through Divine Divinity and having an absolute blast - that is one heck of a great game wow!

I'm nearly finished with Divine Divinity so I've started looking at Beyond Divinity to play next.

But as I look around on the net at professional reviews, user reviews, and forums regarding Beyond Divinity, I'm seeing that there are a lot of bugs and other problems even with the latest patch (English, v1.45).

So my question is: Is Larian planning to patch the game beyond the version 1.45 patch. Thanks!

I wouldnt buy, If you like DD that doesnt mean you will like BD, too different.

Play the BD demo at least. I did luckily for me. I still love Larian though for DD

Try the demo, so you decide for yourself.

I agree with Yannos try the demo and you will be sure if you like it or not.

I have to say that i don't agree with Biblos.
Beyond Divinity is a very good game.
As good as Divine Divinity and maybe better.

A few people say thad BD is less interesting than DD and they say it so loudly that the people could think that Beyond Divinity is bad. It's untrue.

I had some bugs but not too much. They were not important bugs.
I really enjoy the game.

Try it and don't listen to the bad comments.

Yeah you disagree with Byblos who said "If you like DD you may not like BD" So what you are saying is that if you like DD then you muust like BD? Thats [nocando], I like DD and dont like BD.
So do like I said and try the demo to see if you like it, I never said theres anything wrong with it I just said Its not the same as DD.

LOL.

Ok, I will check out the BD demo before I buy it.

But my question remains unanswered. Does anyone know if Larian plans to release a patch beyond v1.45?

I'm pretty sure after 1.45 was released one of the Larians mentioned a couple things would be fixed in the next patch. They have not stated anything officially on if or when a new patch will be released, but based on DD I'd expect another one.

Things seem to have gone quiet on the subject of more patches, so I wouldn't make a decision based on assuming it will happen.

It's very common with games for the developer to be be willing to keep patching but the publisher to refuse to pay for any more - particularly if sales have tapered off and they don't feel they'll get their money back on the deal.

My experience (with the Australian version) was that there were a heck of a lot of bugs, some of which were more than just minor annoyances. The last patch (which was too big for me to download on a dial-up modem) definitely fixed enough to make the game playable though. Fortunately a friend downloaded it on broadband for me.

Whether you like the game may depend to some extent on what your expectations are. If you start it expecting it to be rubbish you should be pleasantly surprised, at least by a few parts of it. However, if you're hoping for a worthy successor to DD, or even an improvement, then you might feel let down.

I thought it was a pretty mediocre effort, although I did hang in long enough to finish it. It just seemed poorly designed and rushed out to keep the cash flow going. But obviously some people still liked it, and - look on the bright side - you may well be one of them. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Good luck.

I apologize if I have offended you in any way, however you really shouldn't become so upset about something so futile as a double answer. Lighten up, it's just an internet forum.
