Thanks to Raze's help unblocking my warrior's saved file, I was able to beat the game, although i did have a problem getting the demon of lies to die... i had to use ressurect and use poisonous cloud, wasting over 60 super magic potions to kill it.

It was a bit tough to get started at the beginning with the heavy orcs around aleroth, along with the orc captain. but once I was able to get through heavy orcs alive, it was much easier from there.

The Wastelands could have been done better. Too much empty space... I know it was whats left of the Orc homeland but there COULD have been more Orcs than the one with Zandalor and Arhu, and Kroxy...

Other than these 2 things, I found the game QUITE enjoyable and DEFINITELY addictive <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Did you have trouble targeting the demon of lies, or doing damage? I didn't have any trouble just with a sword (and the passive Stun skill).

Restoration potions can be much more effective than individual health or mana potions.

I found a Burning Wall spell book the first time I went through Mardaneus' house, which came in handy when dealing with a couple of the heavy orcs the first time I left Aleroth. I didn't use the spell after that, though, so wouldn't necessarily recommend investing your own skill points into it.

The publisher rushed the release of the game, so the wastelands were scaled back quite a bit and left as pretty much straight hack and slash. Larian did the last act of Beyond Divinity first, so that wouldn't happen again if they ended up pressed for time.

no, i used about 16 scorpions to kill it, and it got stuck in the death sequence, so i ressurected, and wasted about 20 mins casting poisonous cloud...

I thought the bug with the DOL hanging mid death animation if killed my a summon or trap was fixed in the patch. Maybe just in games started after the patch is installed?
EDIT: I just checked with my save, started in an unpatched game, and didn't have any problems killing the DOL with scorpions.

If you saved before approaching the DOL, it would have been faster to just reload and kill him again without using scorpions (so I assume you hadn't saved in a while).
