I am playing as a mage. I have read some about using skills and find myself comfortable with my current skills. However I wonder which type of armor I should wear? (melee, ranged or magic resist ??)
Could some one show me a the way ?

In my opinion, all 3 is important. You never know when you might get cage up in a small room to fight tons of enemy. I prefer all 3 as high as possible.

as a mage if u invest in intelligence and spirit, u will never really use weapons, so forget about them

the best armor a guy can get in broken valley and wear it as a mage, is nightbringer, keep looking for it everywhere

use trinkets to beef up ur strength for armor

but there is another way to make uself stronger - use charms and enchantments a lot

in orobas fjords u will get SPOILER alert:

archmage armor - that will be ur best, or u can choose ur own bits of armor and trinkets

maybe save the charms and gems for this set of armor, or not

I've found armor with +range and +magic stats tend to have "mage" enchantments. As a mage - you really shouldn't be within melee range too often.
