I don't mean to hijack your thread, Ellary, but I just wanted to bump what Zozie said above and say...

Please give us open character creation!

I'll have a pre-assigned gender character in my party if I have to, but I'd far rather customize my characters so that I can have whomever I want. This would probably be the #1 feature I would want in this game, so if it's at all possible, please let us make two characters of the same gender!

You will be able to select the gender for both characters. The backstory for the main characters was changed from the original conception; after that there wasn't a reason to stick with one male and one female character.
