Although alot of the new changes are good and interesting. The whole adding strength requirement to the warrior skills has kinda gimped warriors who use the spear. So anyone warrior who takes up a spear will unable to use the warriors skills unless they level up both strength and dexterity at the same time which is not very cost efficient since you should be uping speed and endurance at the same time.

So will there be any plans for new warrior/melee skills geared towards spears to be added to the game sometime during the beta or release. As it seems now anyone warrior melee with a spear is sorta cut from the warrior skills. I have liked how spears are a dex based weapon and gives a little variety the melee classes. But as it stands now they are a class with no fighting skills to support it.

And with DEX based fighters, the first round of combat really sucks when your melee character has a higher initiative than the mage with the buffs.

It would be nice if you had an option to defer you combat turn until after the rest of your party members. After all, just because you're First and ready to go Right Now doesn't mean you can't wait for a better opportunity in a minute...

Probably won't happen though. Kind of late in dev for that kind of new mechanic.

You can delay your turn until the end of the combat round (lower icon on the right edge of the screen).

Spear moves should be similar to the current warrior ones but Dex based. A large AoE attack, A half damage AoE trip attack, a run through enemies attack, an armor piercing stance, an extra long reach attack and a vault in and vault out again attack would be my suggestions.

Indeed. Though in this way you dont retain and AP points. Which is a good balance for it.

Well, that's more of a "skip this round" option but yes, I've seen that.

One of the advantages of having a high initiative ought to that you can choose *when* to act, though. As in "after this specific person, who has buffs to cast" rather than "not at all this round."

I don't think I've ever seen that in a game system, though, so never mind, I guess.
