Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) General How do you kill a vampire with a mage?

For all I know there are two vampire's in the game Tutamon and the one in Dark cave.
Now this is my question how do you kill them with a mage do you have to be at Lv.30 or something?
When I was a worrier I just shopped them in too bits.
I tried evrything zapping them,freezing,burning they will not die. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />

It's really annoing <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/memad.gif" alt="" />.

Have you tried Curse a few times, then switching to Freeze / Elemental Hail or Blind / Hell Spikes? I've seen these combinations recommended for Josephine, so they should work on vampires.

Shade, I was a pretty lowleved mage (in my 20es), did it like this:

Placed my character in the NW corner, behind the coffin - until the vampire had reached me he was nearly dead by highleveled meteorstrike. I used both shield spells. (Needed 3 tries for success)

Tutamun was harder: Killed him with elemental strike lvl 2.

Have you scavenged the Ars Magicana shops? With patience and occasional visits I was able to buy a lot of spell books.

Vamps are a pizza cake: just freeze them (or summon smb.) and then meteorstrike 'em out.

I think i have to train some more in thet case because im only Lv.12.

Vampires are quite beatable at level 12, but it requires a lot of patience. Go in equipped with a good supply of potions. Use meteor strike, hellspikes, or a good bow. Run around a lot, your goal is to be in almost constant motion so they cannot hit you or get a good bead on you very often. Throw an arrow or spell at them periodically as you run around.

Hehe i have beaten the one in dark cave <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />, i was standing behind his chest and he could not even get near me.
I fired meteor stike <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" /> and used lichtning {lichtning does not work well}.
