As of what iam seeing so far of this new game "beyond Divinity" it is basicly the same game only a diffrent story. And yet its not DD2. I ask myslef why not make this DD2. I was even hoping for a add-on for the first one. But even so I will still buy this game because DD was simply the greatest rpg.

Larian intends to make DD2 in full 3d, not only the characters.
As for me, I'd make DD3 in 3d and think of Beyond Divinity as DD2.

Welcome, btw.

And they have a lot of time to change this name at least 10 times before its release

The thing with sequels is, they often get bashed (not sure if that verb fits here, but it sounds nice) because they're "just the same" as the first game. I think that's somewhat the point of : to be somewhat the same as . Something between a sequel and an expansion.
I think this was the orginal idea anyway - maybe they've changed their mind by now...

 1. Command & Conquer
 2. Red Alert (set before 1)
 3. Command & Conquer 2: Tiberian Sun (set after 1)
 4. Red Alert 2 (set between 2 and 1)
 5. Generals (set between 4 and 1 (or another universe?))

There's no reason they can't use a different name. Divine Divinity 2 is the currently intended name for the game after Beyond Divinity because Beyond Divinity doesn't continue the story of Divine Divinity. It's just in the same universe.

Also, Divine Divinity 2 will have MMORPG support, I believe. (Or is it just multiplayer?)

Command and conquer and C&C: Red Alert are completely different games. C&C is set in the future, RA is set in an alternative world.

No they're not. Red Alert was advertised as the prequel to Command & Conquer. It explains why the C&C world exists. Instead of Hitler starting the war, it was Stalin. Different war, different technology. It doesn't explain Tiberium, though.

They just didn't plan on making so many more. And whatever happened to Tibreian sun Twilight? And how about Diablo, Blizzard came out with Diablo II right after. They didn't decide to make some other kind of diablo game.

I seriously doubt they will name it Divine Divinity 2. I'm convinced they will drop the Divine from the name.

And it's multiplayer support.

I'm not sure if you are referring to me, if you do then I do think it has multiplayer support. Having a party system is the first step towards this.

I see what you're getting at. This is now the Divinity franchise so they won't worry about sequal numbers, they'll just have different kinds of Divinity. Maybe...

Yeah another good example is.........

Metroid
Super Metroid
Metroid 2
Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime 2

Those titles are all messed up aswell, although I can't remember which ones go where, and I'm too lazy to research. Looks like divine divinity is going to be yet another one of those titles that are given as examples why games that are going to be games that are going to be used as examples in the future actually make perfect sence, if you know what i mean.

98% of the people hated "Divine" being included in the name.

Larian was kind enough to remove it for those people and I doubt we will see it again.

Goodbye "Divine"
