I love the idea of setting up a necromancer as a class, even if we don't really get classes in the game.

I think that given the things that Larian wants to do with dynamic multi-player story being driven by player decisions, a relationship between an undead party member and a necromancer has a lot of master/servant and animosity built in. You could balance the inherent hatred with a bit of synergy between different class setups.

This way MP trolling actually makes some amount of narrative sense as well.

Just an idea, and I love playing necromancer so just a bit of plugging my fave class smile

What do you guys think?

That's not a bad idea. They having combat and ability usefulness, but also having social animosity between the two. That's ripe for drama. I'd like a necromancer skill tree, but it has to be done right. The only necromancers in gaming that are done right, in my opinion, are the one in Diablo 2 and the one in Guild Wars 1.

Isn't the witchcraft skill necromancy?

It's the closest D:OS has, I suppose, with two skeletal summons and a high-damage attack called "Death Touch", but you still can only have one summon out, and they're only 5 turns-long anyway so it's not an ideal fit.
