How do you prevent items from appearing on the hotbar? I have a fire and a poison arrow i want to put in a backpack which i will then put on my hotbar so i can access all special arrows through that backpack but the arrows just keep appearing on the hotbar when i move them into my backpack. How do you stop the auto placing of items on to the hotbar?

Open the Skill panel (K) and drag items you don't want off of it. Drag your filled backpack onto it. To open your backpack from the skill bar, click on it or press the corresponding hotkey. Right click on an item within your open backpack to use it directly from there.

Aah that did it! skill bar is a lot more tidy now.
