When you enter a "Display name", not in English, but in Russian, instead of letters, squares are displayed. Also, the name of the character is displayed in the game itself.
With the description of subjects the same problem.

How to fix it?
Below is also a "Display name (Translated)", but I do not understand how to change it.

P.S. I really hope that the developers will fix the problem with the impossibility of entering names in other languages.

Use HTML entities for UTF-8 characters.

Entities are a way to show special characters in HTML, useful for languages like French. You can see a table there:

https://www.w3schools.com/charsets/ref_html_entities_e.asp

For example, é would be
Code
é
or
Code
é

Unfortunately, the game and produces lines of code HTML instead of the desired text. Any other ideas?

Encoding is an unexpectedly hard problem and likely never to be changed.

All strings in the game are displayed with HTML, so you use what your momma gave ya.

A similar problem was in the Fallout editor 4 and it was fixed quite quickly through a couple of patches. Especially in the editor divinity engine 2 the dialogues themselves are displayed and written in Russian normally. So I think to fix this problem is quite real and not very difficult.

Can someone knows how to translate their modifications? What kind of guide or something like that? Because in the "display name translation" shows the Russian variation correctly, I just want to learn how to enter the translation.

Unfortunately I did not find a guide on how to use it to translate my modification. Own attempts to either translate to nothing led to nothing.

See my post here. You're probably not doing anything wrong.

Well, it remains only to wait for Larian to fix it. In the meantime, the editor can not be used.
