Just wondering, Janggut.. Perhaps, you might know where I can possibly get Daggerfall and other Elder Scrolls games? I suppose the main thing about these older games is making it work in new PCs. Arena can be downloaded along with the emulator to make it work. But the other games.. I need to find ones which will work in new PCs.
Any suggestions? Comments? Advice?

Well, the Program DOSBOX is designed for that. Many games work with it now.
I'm sttill having Win98 and don't think I'd need it, because W98 is still DOS-based.
All the successors of Win NT need such emulators, I think.

There are several ways to play games under dos. Home of the Underdogs have a whole FAQ devoted to that (check their FAQ section). As Alrik said, DOS BOX works well. Actually there are many DOS emulators arround, you may look arround for them if you wish. For games which do not require a mouse, you may create a DOS bootdisk. If you use Windows XP, go to My Computer, insert a blank diskette in your drive and right click on the A:\ drive. Choose "Format" and then "MS-DOS bootdisk". Don't forget it formats the floppy; erases everything.

Its a pity Arena sucks so badly. Im glad Bethsoft got it together by the time they did Daggerfall (In spite of the fact that it is one of the buggiest games ever released )

Arena looks a lot like Daggerfall, though I didn't play much of Arena really.
However, I did play all of Daggerfall (or a lot at least heh) and funny enough: I think it's a better game still than Morrowind. Morrowind may have the uniqueness and the graphics, but Daggerfall has the "realism" of large nations, cities, villages, guards, closing hours, etc.
Both had bugs too and by the last patch both are highly playable really. Although it's unrealistic to hope for, a remake of Daggerfall would be nice heh. In the end though, I'm hoping The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (or so rumoured) will be equally interesting. After all, I only recall Daggerfall giving a glimpse of how Oblivion looked like.

I love Daggerfall but I think Morrowind overcomes all of its weaknesses. Yes it had nations..........but none of them were suffiently detailed to make travel from one to the other really noticeable. Sure the architecture was sligtly different but there was not depth or substance to be felt from being in one country over another. At least morrowind has more depth to make up for its lack of scope I do miss horses and carts though. And banking. The need to put both those back in ES 4
I had a few good screenshots of me being on the roofs of houses rinding my horse. Weird

I did find some on ebay. But, they were asking for too much money (as you have to bid for them). Then, on top of that, they are still not playable on new PCs without the emulators. I suppose I'll have keep checking up on them.
I'll look into DosBox. Thanks!

ebay? amazone??? Ebay and Amazon Auctions where you can buy and sell items to the highest bidder. Ebay is purely an auction site and Amazon sells games, books etc, but also have auction facilites. Hope this helps Marie
