Strange. What scsi Controller do you have? Mines a tekram 395U.
And are the letters for the cdrom coming just behind the last HD Partision, or is it moved?

My Scsi Burner uses Z:, Scsi CDROM has X:, and atapi dvd has Y:

I have an Adaptec 2940UW SCSI adapter. The SCSI optical drive letters are moved; the CD-RW is Y and the DVD drive is Z.

I got these reponses too, half way through a series of dialogues about why the game crashed (AGAIN!). Its a good scam they've got going there. Of course, after they were supposed to return from "holiday", I heard absolutely nothing from them. What a surprise! But hey, they got my few quid and I hope it makes them happy, they'll never be able to sell me anything again.

Give up. Chalk it up to experience and don't buy anything from Larain again. Stick to the Neverwinter series, they work.

Aah well I must have been the lucky 1, since all NWN DD BD work fine, it is strange however that some ppl have problems with nwn and others dont and vice versa for the divine series, I guess that a PC is such a complicated piece of machinery with so many differenty configs and thus makes it hard for game designers to "try" and make a game that suits 100 ppl out of 100 ppl, just think about your friends PC what is it like compared to yours?
and maybe you get the picture So dont blame the game ppl, they are doing the best they can with the tools they got, take alook at your own PC and have a look what standard and non-standard hardware software it is running ?

I mean after all it is in the game developers interest to make a game that runs on the majority of PC's, that way they can sell more games ... yes?

Anyhow thats my reply to ppl who winch and whine about developers in general

That's not a very good reply.

If the developers just stick to the API's there should be no problem, regardless of what hardware you have in your system. The Win32 API works for all PC's running Windows. "What about my special gfx card, soundcard, joystick?"
That's what DirectX is for.

The problems start when they create special code for special hardware.
Or when they don't follow the rules and guidelines for the API's.
Or when they write buggy code.

Sorry (giggle) so no matter which config you use as long as the code is clean and is strictly adhered to the DX then it should work on every PC

Get real my friend, you know as well a sI do it is never gonna happen
unless you buy a playstation

Talking scsi. It doesnt seem to run at all on scsi cdrom (atleast not mine). Have to use the atapi dvdrom.

I think this is either a configuration issue, or Starforce rejects SCSI drives if it finds an IDE drive. When I had 2 SCSI drives, the game would work fine with either the DVD or CD-RW drive. The intermittent problems I had with the CD-RW (which was terminated) became a tad less intermittent, so I replaced it with an IDE burner (and then terminated DVD drive). Now the game will only recognize the CD in the IDE drive (which is significantly louder spinning up, and despite being faster on paper, takes noticeably longer to verify the CD, briefly locking up the computer in the process).
