Hallo Larians, heute habe ich mal wieder in meine Abacho Adresse reingesehen die ich hier im Forum bekannt gegeben habe.
Da hatte ich eine E Mail von "Test@Larian.com"
Kein Text, und nur ein .pif anhang.
Ich habe die Mail gelöscht.
Kommt mir aber seltsam vor, wisst ihr etwas davon?

Ich habe die Mail jetzt noch mal zurückgeholt und die angehängte Datei enthält natürlich eine Virus/Wurm Netsky.

Einige Antworten von ihr lassen mich das doch stark vermuten, sonst hätte ich wohl einen Translator benutzt.

That is pointless. In all likelyhood nobody from Larian send it.
You should look at the raw header of the e-mail and check the IP address. From that you can check the country and provider of the person sending it.
These Virus e-mails fake the name of the sender by picking a random address from the addressbook on the system the virus is on.

Ich denke auch nicht das die Mail von Larian kommt.
Aber ich dachte (als ich die mail noch nicht genauer unersuchte) das die Leute von Larian vielleicht schon etwas darüber wissen.
Und dann, als ich dann doch noch einmal genauer hinsah und tatsächlich den erwarteten Virus fand, dachte ich dass es als Warnung nicht schlecht wäre es nochmal zu schreiben.

I personally don´t believe that this was random virus mail because it is rather unlikely that a random sent message from a random false e-mail address would match in a way that the sender and the reciever know each other.

For me it is more likely that Larians system is infected and the worm sends itself to known E-mail addresses; and Stone´s is known to the Larian network.

Untrue. I get virus e-mails with my name as the sender, and I'm sure I did not send them as the IP address is wrong. I also get virus e-mails from other people I know and again the IP address showed that it was not from them.
Hundreds of people could have the test@larian.com e-mail address in their address book and only one of them needs to have a virus. Check the IP address in the raw e-mail header, its the only solid verification, without that any statement about who send it is pointless.
