don't worry about asking questions. we don't burn new members at the stake.

as for BD, it has only 2 discs; disc 1 & disc 2. so naturally when u install BD, & when it comes to the part where it asks for the second install disc, pop in BD's second disc. it should work out right.

do let us know if u encounter some more probs & we'll try to help.

Enditall2 (killer 2) works perfectly in windows XP....

what you can also try.... is when you boot up your computer, press F8 (you can start pressing it once everysecond from the moment you switch it on... until you get a menu. This menu comes BEFORE you see the "loading windows XP bar).

In this menu, choose SAFEMODE....

Let it boot, and try to install the game now....

Safemode doesnt load ANYTHING other than the bare basics windows needs to run on..., so if its software related, this will bypass it.

Try this, and let me know...

Okay I think I have been screwed over here I got with my Beyond Divinity a second Game Disk which has the exact same files on it as the Divine divinity game disk. I need to get the second disk or at least the files from it that I need to install Beyond. Can anyone please help me. I can't just take it back to the store and the seller on e-bay is no help either. I'm so mad now it's not even funny I find out that I have the wrong disk the same day I lost my job oh joy of joy.

At least with the UK English version, both CDs are labeled 'Beyond Divinity', and have small Larian Studios and Digital Jesters graphics. The North American version should be similar, but with Hip Interactive as the publisher, rather than Digital Jesters.

The contents should be;

Disk 1 / Installation CD
[*] autorun.inf (1 KB)
[*] BeyondDivinity.exe (700 MB)

Disk 2 / Game CD
[*] BeyondDivinity.W02 (441 MB)
[*] resource.dat (238 MB)

If the CD really is the wrong one, then apparently the seller sent you a returned game that had been resealed. In this case, ebay should have some kind of recourse (especially since selling the game but keeping the play disk amounts to piracy). If that doesn't help, dispute the charge with PayPal or your credit card company, if that was how you paid.

Unfortunately, just getting the files off the CD would not be enough to play the game, since the copy protection will check for the missing play CD when the game starts.

Thanks after speaking to him on MSN, we figured our that he bought the US version, and that the BD game-disk (2) as well as one of the DD disks were missing. He was assuming that the DD game disk was the right one, but the packaging was missing 2 cd's.

He is logging a complaint against the seller, and hopes to get the proper CD's this time, or at least his money back so that he can get the cd's elsewhere.

Hi I just joined this forum to thank all of you for your valuable information. I had exactly the same problem as Drako installing BD on my comp. However, unlike Drako I purchased my copy from a local store. I took it to work and installed it just fine on my Win98 comp. I took it home and tried to install it on my WinXP Service Pack 1 comp and thats where the trouble began. I put the first cd in and nothing happened. When I tried to explore the cd to try the install that way it locked up my comp and had to do a hard boot. I came to this forum and read all the threads. I did everything you guys recommended with no luck. Tried the Killit program, tried the image file route, and then I tried the safe mode install. EUREKA!!!!!!!! It worked like a charm. There was some process running that killit didn't get, but that happens. Anyway, if it hadn't been for your combined knowledge and experience I would have given up on trying to install it. Thanks. I for one appreciate it.

I am glad you could get it working

Since there is a process that is interfering with your computer's stability... you may find This link very informative.

Its on a slightly different subject, but the procedure that you use to fix that, is also the procedure you use to fix corrupted or hidden processes

I would like to thank each and everyone of you that has helped me out in my time of need. I got the correct disk now but have of just recently gotten my internet connection back so I hope with the downloading of the latest patch that my game will now play correctly. If not i will once again call on the help of all my allies in the quest to play Beyond Divinity.
