Hello all :)

In first, sorry if my english is not good.

Well, i'm an experienced modder, and i have a question about the normal map technic (DXT5) used in Divinity :OS.

So, it is (i'm on gimp2) :

deseturate
motion blur
normal map
add a layer (superimposed mode) 3 to 15 layers
fusion
normal map = normalize only
save at DXT5N
load this DXT5N (at this step the texture is pink)
select the red channel and paint it in pure black

save the texture in DXT5 / mip map "on"

Right ?

Thank you :)

And a simple normal map may work ? (dxt1)

I'm interested to make a realistic pack (terrain/objects, armors, annimal)...

AND i wait for a solution for import the models in 3DS and reimport it (for a remplacement pack).

:)

While a realistic texture pack highly interests me, I know nothing about the process. The only help I can offer you is encouragement, good luck!

EDIT : ok

-i don't know the game for the moment, but it's not a problem (I used to work like that, or i just need somme little informations) wink

1)-honestly, for the moment i have a problem with some details.

Exemple

Armors
Click to reveal..

Colors
Click to reveal..

I have already seen blue or pink hairs...

For that, it is better to make a 3D models replacement pack (model/material/textures) or a a retexture it is sufficient ?

A 3D replacement pack (i know the game have a loooot of armors smirk but i am passionate, ok let's go)

Click to reveal..

Click to reveal..

Click to reveal..

With less details of course smirk omg

Or a simple retexturation ?
Click to reveal..

By your think please.

2)- can you explain to me the color system ? (hairs, on the armors...) it is painted on the textures ? it is coded ? (in such case i can replace pink = black, blue = grey) maybe i don't know...

Fixed, i can remove the colored parts on every armors.

Edit:
Ok

I'm going to make :

-better armors design (textures only)
and
-colors scripts removal (on the armors)the dyeing may not work after that.
rolleyes

I post it on the nexus when it's finished, and the nexus link here.

Bye smile

Not finished wink (white parts like sarongs, brass armor...)

I've already made maybe 150 armors...

My technic for the normal map DXT5 is good, i just have a problem with the specular maps, i have never seen something like that.
If you want help...

It is the same technic than the "specular faces maps" ?

edit:
the mail coat.
