Hello together. Like the title says, I want to port and / or Flames of Venegance to the Cry engine. I know, it's a shit load of work and some things have first to be redesigned or replaced, to make them work, but I'm optimistic to get at least one map ported (ONLY the map, no subregions... yet...). 02.02.15 Been working for some hours now. Although some parts are looking good already, I'm just at the beginning. ------ Okay, enough for today. I've created two maps and both of them are in a good state. I think I will focus more on Aleroth and surroundings because rebuilding the map is nice, but it doesn't feel like the original map. Also, it's too much work without converting the map files. Here a look on Aleroth: The height map still isn't perfect, but it's a goos start I think. By the way: I took the geographic location from this map. 03.02.15 Still working on it. I think I should eventually import some textures because the colour of the mountains isn't relly fitting the scene, but they are doing their job. I've created the riverand it took me several hours to make it work, but I'm not done yet. If you look on the map, you will see that the river is splitted, and there is the problem: Whatever I do, the river doesn't split so I decided to let it be until I've an idea how to solve it. The biggest problem will be to make it all fit together without puddles of river water in regions which are under the level of the river. The reason is, the river has on some spots a higher width (if not the double) than on the place where it flows into the gorge of Farglow. Too, there are some islands in the river. I`ve started to work on the first of them whch lies in the right (not yet implemented...) part of the river around Aleroth. If I've looked right, its some sort of shattered so water could eventually be floating in the cracks. All together, it's a lot of fun to create this region. Mabe we will see it in the Sequel of FOV, if there is one in production ------ Second update today! A lot of texturing has been done, but even more things are still missing. 08.02.15 Finally brought a week filled with work and problems behind me, but after work is before work, so there is not much time for me to work on the map and other important things. So far, I didn't work further on the map, but found a great source of information. http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net...est?cb=20110314172721&path-prefix=deHmmm... What a nice view on Aleroth... I bet Farhang designed this. Hopefully, he will bring his maps, which didn't made it into the game (so far) back into the game. There were some scenes in the making of video which have shown some landscape around aleroth. With the maps which came with the Dev Cut version of the game, I can tell you that the whole area is designed. Completely designed, but I don't want to go deeper as needed so far. http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net...581?cb=20110308015007&path-prefix=deOn these two pictures, you can see that Aleroth haves three instead of two bridges. This leaves me a little bit confused as I didn't see a third Gate in FoV (there is one at the "main" entrance and another one where you have to secure the troll baby in the bruning house). Too, you can see how the Rocks and bridges are built and what the surrounding region looks like. Although this gives me a lot of oportunities, my plans for the next week are a little less packed because the holidays will start after the weekend so I can concentrate more on learning for my final exams. As you can see, I had to create a new post because you only have a limited amount of time ('round 4k minutes after you've created your post) to edit it further. This is kinda bad because it makes the whole thread very very unmanageable so I'll have to find a solution for this in the future. ------ Good news! Thanks to Raze, I'm now able to keep this thread more organized. Too, I'm working now with much better tools so creating assets will be much more easy than it was before. I will update this post with screenshots or additional information when I've got some or want to share some Greetings, Mahagon

No, I'm not dead yet - as well is my project here I don't have much time for explanations, but what I can say is that I went through my final exams, was sick for half a month and had to deal with other nasty problems. I don't have anything to show yet, but I made a good progress in learning how the engine works and how I can use my tools effectively. Greetings, Mahagon
