I think the accent should be "cereMORphosis", just as in the English word metaMORphosis.

Volo gets it right.

Everyone else ... not so much.

Does Gale pronounce it right? He is supposed to be a learned man.

Hmmm, I have seen YouTube videos where Gale pronounces metamorPHOsis, which is what I recall from my game experience, but there was one video clip where he says cereMORphosis. Curious! Maybe it was a response along a different dialog tree. So, I guess learned Gale goes both ways.

There are other pronounciations which I found odd:

1) Myrkul would sound better to me if pronounced as mere-COOL, but instead we usually get something sounding like Angela Merkel's last name. Ugh.
2) Abdirak has a great set of voiced lines, dear ones, but I do not like Love-EE-atar as much as I would prefer Love-EYE-atar.
3) Everyone in the game says ZHENtarim, but I think it would sound more exotic if pronounced zhenTARim.

Counterpoint: morphosis is a real word, in which the second syllable is emphasized. When parsing a made up word, like ceremorphosis, I think it’s easier to recognize the existing word and add a prefix than to search for a similar real word.

"recognize the existing word " ... I absolutely agree, in which case the root word is "morph". Per the Merriam-Webster dictionary, morPHOsis is a recognized pronunciation sometimes:

-mor·pho·sis ˈmȯ(r)fəsə̇ sometimes ˌmȯ(r)ˈfōsə̇s

So it is not wrong to say it that way, sort of like cirrhosis but not like halitosis. But I would prefer halitosis rather than cirrhosis.

Huh… I pronounce cirrhosis and halitosis the same (emphasis on the “o”). Am I saying those words wrong, or did you mean you’d rather have stinky breath than a diseased liver? (So would I, for the record ^^)

I cringe every time I start another playthrough and hear the narrator say "chitinous" starting with a "chit" sound.
